“Physie Keeps you Busy” A very true statement for Robynne Seward. Into her 60th year of physie, she is a former Grand Champion, an Advanced Ladies Competitor, a Teacher at Concord Wesley Physie Club and is a new member of the EP Physie Board.
Her physie idols when starting out her physie journey were Edith Parsons & Shirley Bullock, both women who displayed integrity, loyalty and the courage to be great leaders of their time. They were the reason Robynne also began teaching in 1967. Robynne gets enormous enjoyment watching her junior girls take to the physie floor.
There are a few personal memories that stand out for Robynne: being a member of many winning Concord Wesley teams, many achievements on Sydney Town Hall stage, with a highlight of being awarded Grand Champion Girl in 1970 & 1978. Nothing beats the unforgettable moment when your number is called out as the winner.
Other highlights of her physie life include many fun times with her club members, end of year celebrations, dress up nights, in particular dressing up as Nuns to perform ‘Sister Act!’
Robynne believes physie is a sport that you can enjoy for your entire life with other family members & develop lifelong friendships. She tells her non physie friends, it’s like syncronised swimming without the water!
